5 major differences between Hemp and Marijuana.

Cannabis is the term that describes both Industrial Use Hemp and Marijuana but the two plants differ in some ways.  Here are 5 major differences between Hemp and Marijuana:

1. Genetics

There are 3 major types of cannabis species: Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis.  For cannabis to be considered Industrial Hemp it has to be a sativa

2. THC & CBD

All Cannabis plants including Industrial Hemp and Marijuana have about 60 nutrient filled plant compounds that are released when the plant is ingested raw, vaporized, made into a tonic or even smoked.  Two of these cannabinoids outweigh the rest.  THC and CBD.  THC is very psychoactive and will make you high.   CBD will not make you high but it will make you fell happy (less anxious and less depressed), relaxed and reduce pain and inflammation. THC does most of the same but will add the benefit or side effect (depending on what you're going for) of getting you high.  For cannabis to be considered Industrial Hemp, it has to have a THC level under 1%.

3. Growth and Height

Industrial Hemp will grow fast and extremely tall.  It can grow up to 30 feet high and will stay thick and stalky like a bamboo plant.  Marijuana conversely will grow slower and much bushier and maybe up to 10 feet tall if you're lucky.  Marijuana is tougher to grow and requires and almost tropical warmth to grow successfully.  Hemp is much more versatile and can grow in many different climate types

4. Fibers

Industrial Hemp is bred to have very very strong fibers so it can be used to make a myriad of products like apparel, shoes, carpets, ropes, cement, fuel, soap, shampoo, all types of printing paper, cooking oils, and thousands more!  Marijuana does not have the fiber strength of its hemp relative.

5. Legailty

Industrial CBD Hemp flower that you can vape and smoke is legal in all 50 states as long as the THC content is under .3%.  Click here for more information and to get CBD flower delivered to you 100% legal (US only).  Marijuana plants on the other hand, will have THC levels up to 30% and trace amounts of CBD.  As of 2018, eight states and the District of Columbia have adopted the most expansive laws legalizing marijuana for recreational use.  About thirty states in total have some sort of medical marijuana program.
